In the year 1947, "Naftagas" company had started with exploration drilling in Bečej area, and in the late 1960s the natural underground source of CO2 had been discovered. During the year 1979 "Naftagas" had founded a company named "Dioxid" in Bečej for liquid CO2 production. Linde has been linked to this production site since its early days, when, in 1979 Linde won the tender and began to build the 3t / h LCO2 plant. The production of LCO2 has started in 1983. The company name "Linde Gas Srbija" originates in the year 2005, few years after Linde has signed the contract for the new 10 t / h LCO2 plant in 2001. Linde became the major owner by purchasing the shares from the new emission.
After Linde got the majority of ownership by purchasing the new shares in 2001, they started the investments for a new filling station for both CO2 and air gases. Later on Linde has received the authorizations and licenses for medical LOX, N2O and LCO2 in accordance to Serbian as well as EU regulations, which shows that although the main business focus is LCO2, air gases and medical gases are starting to gain importance for Linde in Serbia. Year by year the the ISO certifications have been updated. Linde Gas Srbija has become the supplier for Coca Cola and Pepsi.
